A young couple in Tafí Viejo were found dead after their car was swept away by a flash flood while returning home from a wedding.

Mariano Robles, 28, and Solana Albornoz, 32, had set off late at night but stopped due to severe weather. They sent a final message to their nanny saying they would wait for the rain to ease before continuing—however, they never made it home to their two young children.

After they were reported missing, authorities later discovered their overturned car in a ditch. Investigators believe a sudden flash flood swept the vehicle off the road. When rescue teams recovered the bodies, the couple were found holding each other inside the wreckage.

The tragedy has deeply affected the local community, especially as the couple were last seen celebrating happily at the wedding just hours earlier. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The storm also claimed another life in the region, highlighting the severe impact of extreme weather across northern Argentina.
