Royal Easter Stay Shifted

Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh were forced to change their usual Easter plans after being unable to stay at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate.

The couple instead stayed at Gardens House, a modest four-bedroom holiday home typically rented to the public. Their usual retreat, Wood Farm, remained occupied by Prince Andrew, who has been living there since early this year.

Andrew had been expected to move to a nearby property, but delays have reportedly kept him at Wood Farm, creating a scheduling conflict. The house, once the quiet residence of Prince Philip, is known for its privacy and has long been a preferred getaway for Edward and his family.

Gardens House, while comfortable, is described as simpler in style, with traditional interiors and access to estate gardens and parkland. It remains a popular holiday rental, often booked well in advance.

The situation highlights ongoing tensions over royal living arrangements, as Edward is said to have urged Andrew to relocate so his family can return to their usual Easter stay. Meanwhile, Andrew is reportedly splitting his time between Wood Farm and another nearby residence that is still being prepared.
