For years, Khloé Kardashian has lived under the cameras alongside the people she knows best: her own family. But when the possibility of trading that familiar world for Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills came up, Kardashian made it clear that she is not rushing toward another reality-TV family.
Speaking on the September 30 episode of her Khloé in Wonder Land podcast with Paige DeSorbo, Kardashian was asked about the possibility of joining the Beverly Hills franchise. Her response was revealing: she said she could hardly imagine working on a reality show with people outside her family.
Since Keeping Up with the Kardashians launched in 2007, Kardashian’s television career has largely been built around her sisters, mother and wider family circle. That familiarity, she suggested, has shaped the way she understands reality television.
The idea of competing for attention or screen time on another ensemble reality show appears less appealing to her. Kardashian admitted she does not know all the behind-the-scenes dynamics of the Bravo franchise, but when asked whether she might join, her answer was essentially probably not.
And yet, Kardashian is far from closing the door on reality television.
Her interest simply appears to lie somewhere else.
Rather than entering another group of established reality personalities, she said she would be more attracted to a competition format. She mentioned The Great British Bake Off as the kind of programme she would enjoy taking part in, while also revealing an interest in hosting a competition show involving children.
Her enthusiasm was particularly clear when she talked about children’s baking programmes and shows such as American Ninja Warrior. The concept of working with young contestants, she suggested, is something she could genuinely see herself doing.
For now, though, Kardashian remains firmly inside the family business.
She continues to appear on The Kardashians alongside Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Kris Jenner. Away from the cameras, she is also raising her two children, True and Tatum, whom she shares with former partner Tristan Thompson.
So while a Beverly Hills housewife may sound like a natural next chapter for someone who has spent nearly two decades in reality television, Kardashian’s latest comments point in another direction.
The cameras can stay. The Housewives, apparently, can wait.
